Embracing Ignorance. How?
Philosophy, unshackled from the pursuit of wisdom or prescriptive knowledge,
neither unveils truths nor prescribes conduct.
It’s a tireless quest, pondering its essence and existence in a tranquil solitude that disrupts none.
In its most optimistic moments, it might birth notions useful for wealth creation, dreams of alternative societies, or the consoling opium of metaphysics.
As Lyotard states, embracing ignorance is far from simple;
we cannot tranquilize ourselves with a wordless reality, a perfect abundance, or dreamless nights. Hence, we’re drawn to philosophy, compelled to ‘attest to the presence of lack through our speech’—acknowledging an inherent void we cannot escape.
